TREES IN THE PUBLIC RIGHT OF WAY

Care for trees in the public right-of-way is the responsibility of the abutting landowner. Council may require removal of trees for cause; in such cases costs are divided evenly between the village and the abutting landowner. Council must approve new trees in public right-of-way.

GRASSES, WEEDS, TREES, AND SHRUBS

Noxious/poisonous weeds must be removed by the landowner. Grasses must not be allowed to bloom, seed, or grow taller than 10 inches. Trees/Shrubs must not overhang any portion of a street, public ground, or sidewalk. Trees near streetlamps must not obstruct the passage of light from streetlamps. All trees over sidewalks and streets must be trimmed to provide 10 feet of clearance.
